All too often, people actually get lost or injured deep in one of the state's many outdoor spaces, that is when the New Mexico State Police Search and Rescue (SAR) is called in. The State Police then call-in groups such as the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Posse to help with search and rescue efforts.
